nexus kids

At nexus, we are convinced that raising our kids with a healthy understanding of the gospel is crucial to their development as mature, self-aware, and compassionate individuals.

Our Children's and Youth Ministries are still very much in their infancy, but we are committed to developing programs and traditions that instruct and guide our children in the ways of the kingdom of God while celebrating and encouraging their individual journeys through spirituality and faith. Nursery (infant - 3 years)
We want for our youngest members to associate church with a sense of safety, belonging, and fun. Our Nursery leaders are Early Childhood Education students and graduates, who are able to be consistent friendly faces from week to week and to provide a dependable, safe, and fun environment for infants to 3 years old.

Children (4 - 10 years)
Our children's ministry is held at Twister's Gym, where kids spend much of the time in active play on the gymnastics equipment. We feel that the best understanding of the gospel, and of Christ's teachings on the kingdom of God come from the parables, and weekly lessons are based on monthly parable themes, and presented creatively each week. We would love for each of our kids to be able to answer the question "what is the kingdom of God like?" with confidence and clarity, and to understand how this answer applies to their own lives.

Youth (11 - 14 years)
Our youth ministry emphasizes discussion, critical thinking, and cultural engagement, as well as strong mentoring relationships with youth leaders and other adults. Sunday night activities include discussion-based lessons on the parables and cultural influences like Harry Potter, outdoor games, and 'field trips' for slurpees, pizza, and sometimes video games nights.
